The Crimean War was fought by Russia against Turkey, Britain, France and Piedmont. The initital cause for the war was the dispute between France and Russia over the Palestinian holy places. The Crimea medal was awarded to the British Army, Navy and Marines during this war.
Obverse - Bust of Queen Victoria. Reverse - a Roman soldier armed with shield and sword, being crowned by Victory.
This Crimea medal is made from lead-free pewter. It is supplied on a yellow and light blue ribbon attached to a colourful card with an image of the Light Brigate going into battle on the front and historical information on the reverse.
