Brilliant original bit of kit!
I bought the xxl and added a liner later.I'm a 52 inch chest and I have plenty room! Very well made jacket and looks great. Customer service and delivery were top notch.

A Jacket To Cherish
Originally marketed as a 'summer' jacket, this coat is quite robust and warm enough to cope with fairly unpleasant weather. I delayed posting my review until I'd worn it through summer and now early winter. Love it! Plenty of interesting features and it looks so cool (I've got the olive green). Medium fits me perfectly (40" chest, 5' 10"). Hard wearing, has survived sharp showers without getting all soggy. Two minor (very minor) criticisms .. wish there was an inside breast pocket (like to keep my wallet close to my heart!) and the outer pockets are not easy to put your hands in if it's a bit cold. Apart from that, this is a great coat and excellent value.
