The Blank Firing Attachment (BFA) is screwed into the end of the rifle barrel when firing blank rounds. The hole in the end of the attachment (which is significantly smaller than the rifle bore) allows the pressure of the gas release to trigger the automatic cycling of the rifle which otherwise would not happen with blanks. It also serves the purpose of preventing debris from the blank rounds (and in some cases, inadvertently loaded live rounds) escaping.
Coloured bright yellow to make it highly visible when in use.
