Q: I do not understand why exactly you are saying on the website here that the NBC suit needs to be first washed before being worn! It is usually isued and carried in its protective overwrap till first used by troops. I have never before anywhere at all heard of that 'wash before you wear' claim! What gives please? Could you explain this to me?
A: You're quite right that the military carry them sealed until required. But as we generally sell these to members of the public for everyday wear (not to withstand NBC attacks!) we suggest washing them first so that the charcoal lining does not rub onto their clothes.
