These Bates Ultra Light Patrol Boots have been specifically developed for the British military.
These boots fall within the MOD's specification for "Boots Patrol (BP)". The official specification states "The BP is primarily for use where the combat threat is medium to low and patrol pack weight is light. As the threat level in any situation can accelerate the BP may also be used for heavy combat use for limited periods. Terrain including road, field, track, rubble and rock. The area of use and terrain embraces climatic areas A3 and C0 as described in Defence Standard 00-35 (Part 4); this covers temperatures ranging from -10°C to +35°C and 0%rH to 80%rH. The extremes of this range will be for short periods of use and in combination i.e. with Warm Weather or Extreme Cold Weather (ECW) socks and GS Gaiter."
