Thick, nicely tailored shirt
Try buying a decent thick cotton, well-tailored shirt for less than £30 on the High Street. This is a great shirt .. too warm for the summer, but great for the rest of the year. The black dye is not solid, leaving a most pleasing subtle visual effect.
The small size fits my chest nice and snug, the sleeves are the perfect length (I'm 5'10", slim and pretty ordinary limb length), and the shirt tail is long enough to tuck into trousers or leave untucked (without looking daft). The only thing that fries my brain is the button holes, which are horizontal instead of vertical. They're a cool little detail, but it's surprisingly difficult to button yourself up one handed if you're not paying attention.
