Highlander military rucksacks go from strength to strength and now have an unbeatable reputation for ruggedness combined with versatility. All the Highlander rucksacks include the 1000 Denier PU coated XTP fabric which is the ultimate fabric for outdoor products that require an above average resistance to abrasion, punctures and tearing. The fabric is also specially coated to provide maximum water resistance. Includes top quality Duraflex buckles, accessories and nylon webbing. There is improved access using curved zips.
Available in olive green, DPM and new HMTC, these rucksacks are especially suited for cadets and outdoor enthusiasts. Camouflage patterns help you blend into your surroundings and hide the dirt better than plain and black colours.
The 44L rucksack features a main compartment with sleeve for hydration pouch or documents and 2 side pockets. There is plenty of room for essentials for a day trip and overnight stay, as well as compact items for a short camping trip. The 44L rucksack features wide padded straps as with larger models, so will remain comfortable to wear even when heavily loaded.
Don't be put off if you're not a cadet or outdoor enthusiast, these rucksacks are great for day to day use, travelling to work with, cycling, or as school backpacks.
All highlander rucksacks come with a lifetime guarantee.
Please note that the velcro patch for attaching badges is only on the rucksack in HMTC colour.
Approx weight of the 44L whilst empty is 1300g.

Looks good, but that it.
Brought this last year, due to the side pouches and the wider shoulder straps. The top flap straps feel tacky, and the top flap itself doesn't fit a helmet underneath it comfortably. The main pocket isn't particularly wide and the the back padding is very flimsy, the only benefit of that is that it folds easily but can make carrying the rucksack uncomfortable. The shoulder straps may be wider but doesn't have much padding so it doesn't make it any more comfortable, I wouldn't say I have carried more than 50lbs in the rucksack and the bottom has already ripped. I wouldn't buy this again I would rather spend the extra money on a camelbak or blackhawk rucksack.
Pros: Hip straps, Side pouches, Wider straps
Cons: Straps seem flimsy, Not enough padding , Stitching isn't strong enough
Sizing: Feels about right
Would recommend: No

Excellent for the money
This is an excellent piece of kit, being well made and relatively tough, especially when you consider the price. HMTC is very simlar to MTP, however it is darker in shade, so the lay person isn't going to notice, but if your serving then someone will and make a comment. That said I can see this piece of kit being ideal for cadets now that MTP is being rolled out to them. The pockets (non detachable) are all a good size and have self repair zips, plus there is an internal pocket and connections for a water bladder (not supplied). The 44 litre rucksack has been around for a while now with Highlander and I can see that with the launch of HMTC it will be around for a lot longer.
Pros: Good size, Comfy to wear, Looks good, Great value for money
Cons: Side pockets fixed
Would recommend: Yes
