Leder Gris Original is a mixture of 70% wax and 30% oil. The wax provides waterproofing - as it dries, it remains on or just below the surface of the leather. The oil goes deeper into the leather, and helps to maintain the leather’s suppleness by replacing leather oils lost during the drying out process. If leather oils are not replaced, then boots will be more likely to show signs of flex cracking earlier.
If boots regularly get wet and are then left to dry out, the leather will eventually begin to harden and crack. Regular use of Leder Gris will help to prevent this from happening, sustain the water-repellency of the leather and extend the life of your boots.
Simply brush the Leder Gris in when the boots are almost dry, using the brush to work the wax oil into the leather.
