Q & A's
Q & A's
Q: Is this product a British Army issue item which can be used as an emergency stretcher?
A: It's a commercially made basha, not an army issue one, but could be used as a stretcher in an emergency.
Q: Could this product be tied or clipd with a second basha...
A: There's no reason why not. If you had two of these bashas, you could join them with the press-studs, although there would be gaps so it wouldn't be a waterproof join.
Q: dose this basha come with cord to tie it down or to trees
A: No, but we sell a range of purlon cord that would be suitable.
Q: Is this product Waterproof ore will it seep through?
A: This is fully waterproof.
Q: When its raining can't water run under, if so is a way you can stop doing it?
A: This is just a shelter - it is not meant to be enclosed like a tent.
Q: How much does Basha weigh?
A: Approx 1300g

Great bit of kit
I have been using bashas for a few years with army cadets. Like said in the Q&A they are not men't to completely seal you in like a tent they just go over the top to keep the rain off. You don't have to set it up like in the video you could find four trees and put the corners to it with one end raised ( head end ) so the water runs of the feet end ( not getting you wet ) Or if it is just you you can ( works well if you have a camp bed ) Tie the middle on both ends about 3 or so foot off the ground and then use string or cord what ever you are using to tie the sides down to pegs in the ground so it makes a triangle shape which will keep you 100 percent dry.
Pros: Small, Easy to pack
Cons: Can be hard to setup
Would recommend: Yes

Keeping it simple.
I started using bashas some years ago, first off for summer outings, but lately for all seasons, finding tents somewhat claustro- phobic now. Use a good gortex bivvy bag, and the appropriate sleeping bag for the season, set the basha to match the conditions and you'll always wake warm and dry. And you'll have been more in touch with your surroundings.
Pros: Versatile, Simple to use, Lightweight.
Cons: Off hand, none.
Would recommend: Yes
