Q & A's
Q & A's
Q: What is the length of the xl size please?
A: The overall length from the top of the collar to the very bottom is approx 83cm.
Q: Does the lining fasten/button in the jacket or does it just "float" in the jacket?
A: The liner zips into the outer so is fully attached.
Q: do you sell the m65 infantry jacket in different lengths, ie: large/short ?
A: No sorry, just the regular length.
Q: Can you please tell me What year this Re issue was issued, Is this a genuine US army issue. Also, Why is this item only available at this store?
A: This is a fashion replica, not a genuine army issue. And it is only available here because its our own design!
Q: On the khaki coloured jacket(olive)are the stripes on arms distinct colouring or are they distressed washed/worn effect.(Iam hoping they are not highly distintive marked)
A: The stripes on the sleeve on the olive colour are quite subtle. They are more pronounced on the black jacket.
Q: Does the the M65 jacket black have the strips on the arm?
A: Yes it does.
Q: Do you sell the lining on its own? if so, how much?
A: Sorry no, they are only sold as a complete set.
Q: Do you stock x-small in the M65 infantry jacket. If not could you order it in?
A: Sorry no, these are only made down to size small.
Q: Could you please tell me the length of the sleeve, from the armpit to the bottom of the cuff, and from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the cuff?
A: A size large when measured from the armpit to the cuff (not including the pointed part of the cuff) is approximately 20.5" and the shoulder (at the join of the sleeve) is 25.5" to the end of the cuff.
Q: What are the waterproof qualities of this jacket?
A: This jacket isn't waterproof.
Q: Could you please tell me the length of the small and medium jacket..
A: The length when measured from the top of the collar to the bottom of the hem at the back is Small=32.5" and Medium=34".
Q: Could you tell me what the overall length of the jacket is, measured from shoulder to drawcord, in size L.?
A: The length of the jacket in size large when measured from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the hem is approximately 32" or from the top of the neck to the hem is 34.5".
Q: How long is this jacket in size XL, measured from where to collar starts to the drawcord?
A: Approx 34 inches
Q: is the lining smart enough to be worn on its own?
A: The outside is a quilted pattern and no reason why you couldn't wear it on it's own. However, to do the zip up it would have to be pulled from the inside because of the way it attaches to the main jacket.
Q: I am interested in buying the above item, just wondering is the 'm and g 65' featured in the product photo on the item itself?
A: Yes it is. It's a sewn-on badge.
Q: What are the other improvements not listed over the M65 regiment jacket.
A: The main design improvements are the 2 additional pockets and the more secure attachments for the liner - these are issues addressed with the previous version. Other than that, there are some cosmetic changes to the badges, vintage details, etc.

The jacket will go a little past your buns, however there are strings that can be tightened to fix this. (32" collar to hem) The arm length is just right. (19-20" armpit to wrist) The liner separately fits perfectly. The jacket separately is baggy (not so much with the strings done). Together they fit very comfortably but may look big. I like the jacket and would recommend it for larger individuals, but would love it if they had xs stock.

M65. Worth it!
First off, this is a great jacket for the price. Most points have been covered by previous reviewers so I will deal with just a couple of niggling issues. Just arrived today so will veer away from usage and longevity. If fits like a glove. I am 6ft and just under 14 and a half stone so I would normally order an XL or even XXL as I don't like close fitting garments. I took the advice of above reviews and went for a large. Can still fit a hoody underneath if required but works best with just a T shirt, it feels that warm and snug. An XL would have looked ridiculous. If I am honest at first impressions it does not have that full on urban army surplus look that I envisaged. This is probably because it is straight out of the bag and the liner does give the jacket some volume. Dare I say that it almost feels slightly 80's blouson. This will fade in time I'm sure and some wear and tear will see to that, also the fact I got this item in black gives it more of a high street look. I'm being picky , much like when I say, please dispense with the printed Seargent stripes on the sleeve, they add nothing and cheapen the item. Apart from that, buy with confidence, this is a year round jacket with a price that you get nothing for if this was a brand name.
Pros: Different from the , Price, Warmth, Comfort
Cons: Appliqué insignia

Nice enough jacket, nightmare customer service
I purchased this coat last year, I was rather excited for it. It looked great in the picture. Being from out of the UK i was expecting extra shipping fees, so I can't complain about that. But when it arrived I found it was too large. The product itself was nice enough. If i fit into it I bet it would be very comfortable. For a small it was ENORMOUS. So I tried returning it, which cost me even more money. The comany said to post it to the shipping address on the package i received. Which I did. No problems. 6 months later and several inquiries with M&G and my shipping service as to where it might be and it returned to me in Canada. Tracking reveled it had waited at the shipping station for almost four moths of that time. In the end it had been sent back to me and M&G denied any responsibility and made no effort to help recoup any of my expenses. Overall buying this coat was a huge waste of time and huge money sink for me. Dealing with M&G customer service was a long line of excuses and denial.
Pros: Warm, Nice fabric
Cons: Be a large person to wear it, Huge for a small, Customer service
Sizing: Feels large

An incredible piece of kit
I ordered the M65 after some deliberation. In hindsight that was a waste of time. This jacket is extremely warm, comfortable, well fitting and looks great. On the day of arrival it was 4 degrees out, so I ventured out, wearing a sweatshirt and t-shirt beneath. However, within five mins the sweatshirt had to come off. The M65 is that warm. I am 6'2", 14 stone with a 44" inch chest, yet the size M firs perfectly. Normally I have to buy a L or XL to cope with my long arms and broad shoulders. If you buy one, buy a size down from your normal! My only negative is I can't find any! I like to moan about stuff.
Pros: Look, Warmth, Price
Cons: None found!

Best Winter Jacket Ever
I had never been big on wearing winter jackets as I always hated the look of them, but my interest in the military brought me to this. The jacket keeps me warm in the autumn winds without the liner but further into winter it will be good to try the full thing. Being 5'10 and quite scrawny, the small is a bit wide in the chest but I still have time to grow into it. The 6 pockets on the front of the jacket make going out very convenient and has been praised by friends at school. I always look for an excuse to wear this is jacket it is that good.

Money well spent
I searched high and low for an M65 Jacket which would live up to the name and my expectations. The Mean and Green M65 Infantry Jacket is an exceptionally good buy, I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I'm short, 5'9" 80kg and muscular build and always find it difficult to get a jacket which fits and looks good whilst still allowing me to move; I usually end up buying a coat which is too long so i can get the fit across the shoulders/chest. I bought a medium size and it fits a treat, they are very large fitting. The quality of the jacket is tops. The only thing I didnt like was that its not water resistant, so i bought the Wet Blocker Spray along with the jacket and treated it; got caught in the rain a few times and it held up fine, no water got through and I was warm and dry, JOB DONE.
Pros: Stylish, Well made, Comfortable, Warm
Cons: Not waterproof

Overall, an excellent jacket with all the features I expected and more. The only thing that could be said to be a hassle is the large sizing; I'm usually a large so I bought a small but it was a big baggy, however this is no problem at all and I have managed to fix that. Still, this is undoubtedly the best jacket I've ever bought from here so far.

One morning walk I did was at -10C and I couldnt feel the cold at all. Dont hesitate to buy this coat, just make sure you get the right size. They are massive so if you usually wear a large, the medium will probably feel extra roomy!!

Vintage look and feels great on
The M65 Infantry Jacket has the vintage look and quality of a WW11 era jacket. Nice detailed attention to design and comfort; with a quality choice of materials. It definititely has the right look and feels great on. The outer shell fits nicely over the insulating quilted and fleeced liner. I'm in the mountains of VA., U.S.A.; and appreciate the wind resistance and warmth. The liner has good quality zippers up the sides, a few buttons across the back neck to shoulders and a snap tab at each cuff. A jacket for all seasons. I usally wear a medium 40- 42; the small fits good. I don't know that adding the distress stitching on the right shoulder made any sense; but it does blend with the jacket. My dad's WW11 Air Force patch covered the area, and definitely looks right on the jacket. Thanks MeanandGreen- for a great jacket and quick ship.

Best coat I've ever had
The best coat i have ever owned. my mum got the jacket for christmas although she gave it to me in november as an early present. We've had some really cold weather recently and the coat has kept me warm all the way through, i can't actually wear anything more than a t-shirt underneath it as i start to get too hot. i would recommend this jacket to anyone. my dad like mine so much he ordered one for himself. please don't make the mistake that i did and buy the jacket in your normal size otherwise it will be too big. I originally asked for the large but when it arrived it was far too big so had to order the size down. As i say its a really good jacket that will keep you warm no matter when. The only thing i would say thats bad about the jacket is that when you take the inner lining out it becomes a bit baggy but i went to see Richard Ashcroft last year and he was wearing a army jacket with a leather jacket underneath it, he looked the sh*t! Ive since tried it myself and it looks pretty cool so every cloud. GREAT JACKET!

Worth Every Penny...
I bought an M65 two or three weeks back. The coat is excellent for the cold weather, and because it has three variations in one coat can be used in various situations. Taking the outer off, and using the liner in a warmish pub is a good option. The liner doesn't look silly on its own, and is warm to boot. There are no pockets in the liner, having an inside pocket would be handy ( I have had one sown in to mine) The hood is a little light weight, I would like to see it made of the same material as the rest of the coat. I am a 40 chest and the medium fits me well, with the liner in that is. I haven't had it out in the rain, it isn't sold as water proof anyway, but in the cold and windy weather that we have had lately it has been first class.
Pros: Thumb Extensions!, Very adaptable style, Good looking coat.
Cons: Hood is lightweight

Looks good but....
I received this jacket yesterday evening - I am 5'7" 150lbs and 38 inch chest - I normally hover between small and medium - I read that these come up big so plumped for the 'small'. First impressions was that it looked huge when I unpacked it but it fittied ok, it does tend to bellow out a bit at the shoulders, giving the effect of being much larger across the shoulders - also the arms seem to come up very long - I think I am at the absolute limit for the sizing, anyone smaller than me would be swamped. It does look to be well made and very warm, was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the lining - I think you you could wear that on its own - so it really is 3 jackets in one.

Cons: Very wide across the shoulders, Long arms needed

Hugely Pleased
I must admit my heart sank when I clicked on the homepage and saw that the M65 regiment jacket had been replaced, I am a cautious buyer and was monitoring the reviews and decided to take the plunge. When I saw the new M65 Infantry Jacket and the stock photo I was a bit unsure however I went ahead. I'm glad I did. Staight out of the packaging I thought 'my god it looks massive!' I had ordered a medium however my mind was put at rest when I tried it on, a perfect fit, I am 5'10" and 13 1/2 stone. I have long arms and the sleeves sit perfect for me which means they might be long for some.. The general stitching is high quality, the button studs are small in my experience but very strong and work fine. The material is good heavy cotton I chose the olive colour. The zipper for main jacket closure is a heavy duty brass type metal which runs clean and there are no 'sticky' bits that often mar your enjoyment of a jacket. The back has a bellow type cut (nothing to severe)at each shoulder which looks good and is needed due to the padding of the fleece lined inner. Each pocket is thoroughly stitched and reinforced and feels substantial. The new addition of the side pockets works well and are comfortably placed behind the bottom two pockets. The sleeves have a fold away extension at the cuff, which can be secured by velcro to help keep your hands warm. The inner fleece is very warm and fits into the jacket perfectly. It is secured at the back of the jacket by three solidly stitched buttons one either side on the neck and one in the centre with button holes on the inner lining of the M65. The inner jacket sleeves are attached to the outer by a stud attachment at the cuff. The inner fleece is zipped to the front of the jacket with good quality zips. The hood is thin cotton. The overall quality of this jacket is impressive and it is extremely warm, worked well on my evening walk to the pub, out with the dog and to the local shops in some heavy rain and gusting wind. Although its not waterproof as such it didn't let me down. All in all I'm mightily chuffed with this jacket and will be wearing it through the winter and beyond.
Pros: Interchangeability , Quality, Warmth
Cons: None so far
Sizing: Feels about right
